Creative Scotland Funding

Elizabeth Humble receives funding from Creative Scotland, to develop a new Fine Jewellery Collection, focusing on working with gold and precious stones. Central to the project will be the development of an online blog to connect the public with the designer.

"The funding of this project marks a new stage of development for myself as a designer maker, and for the sustainability and growth of Elizabeth Humble Jewellery. I'm excited to embark on a new 'Behind the Scenes' style approach for the 'Exploring Gold' collection, via my blog and social media platforms, and hope to create beautiful jewellery with Gold and precious stones, that will engage and inspire the public." New Designers - One Year On Award

Elizabeth Humble is delighted to announce that she has been chosen as one Professional Jeweller's NexGems. NexGems is a much-loved sector of the HOT 100 book, that reveals the up-and-coming jewellery designers Professional Jeweller is tipping for the top.

Elizabeth Humble was one of the standout graduates at 2010's New Designers show, winning the Goldsmiths' Company award for her striking jewellery designs that are inspired by the wild landscapes of her native Scotland.

Since then she has grown as a designer after being taken under the wing of online jewellery retailer Astley Clarke, which has mentored Elizabeth and worked with her to build her eye-catching collections.

"The mentoring program gave me invaluable advice and helped to boost my confidence at the beginning of my career," says Elizabeth. As a result, this year Elizabeth returned to New Designers to show just how much her brand has developed over the past year, and while there she scooped the One Year On Award for jewellery. "It really confirmed that the work I had put into my first year of business had paid off," she says.

In this, her first formative year, Elizabeth has ploughed her focus into building her branding and finding her position in the British market. As she gains in confidence, Elizabeth lays out her plans for 2012, which include creating showstopping designs to take to the press, plans to start designing in gold and diamonds and beginning her hunt for overseas stockists.
